Yup, California has plenty of snakes both venomous and non-venomous. Among the venomous species you can find in California are:
Southern Pacific Rattlesnake (Crotalus viridis helleri)
Norther Pacific Rattlesnake (Crotalus viridis oreganus)
Red Diamondback Rattlesnake (Crotalus exsul ruber)
Southwestern Speckle Rattlesnake (Crotalus mitchelli pyrrhus)
Mojave Desert Sidewinder (Croatalus cerastes cerastes)
Colorado Desert Sidewinder (Crotalus cerastes laterorepens)
There are several other venomous species that are found in Southern California, but are less common:
Western Coral snake (Micrruroides euryxanthus)
Western Diamondback Rattlesnake (Crotalus atrox)
Mojave Rattlesnake (Crotalus scutalatus scutalatus)
Desert Massasauga (Sistrurus catenatus edwards)
Twin-spotted Rattlesnake (Crotalus pricei precei)
Mottled Rock Rattlesnake (Crotalus lepidus lepidus)

lol yes. There are snakes in every state in the US. Some are just more dangerous than others. Cali has rattle snakes incase you go climbin any mountains... be careful.
Also keep in mind that snakes really are not that dangerous... so long as you are careful. 75% of snake bites that take place in America involve alcohol, and you know the snake wasn't drinkin.

yeah they have snakes. most of the US does. there is no reason to be terrified of snakes....they don't go looking for people, they will in fact try to get away from people if it is possible.

Yes, we do but most of them are harmless. The only snakes you have to worry about are rattlesnakes and those guys are usually only found in desert settings.
