I'm trying to figure out if the tool I bought is the right one, before I drive out to the middle of nowhere to work on the brakes.

you didn't specify a year or exactly what it is you are trying to do ... this is the brake system specs. for a 2000 Saturn SL2 .. i hope this helps.

*Brake drums and rotors have a discard diameter or thickness dimension cast into them. This is a wear dimension and not a refinish dimension. Any drum or rotor which does not meet the specification values should be discarded.
