This question is unrelated to the "Clear History" within Tools--Internet Options. This is directly related to typing in the search bar and having my computer generate various options that have been search before.

What is your search bar? Is it a search bar in a tool bar?
(google toolbar / yahoo toolbar)

Clearing search history from the Google Toolbar (Google Toolbar Search History):
• Click on the Google logo on the Toolbar to access the drop-down menu.
• Select the "Clear Search History" option. This will clear all the previous searches from the drop-down box.
This only clears search history from the Google Toolbar, which is entirely separated from the search history stored by your browser. To completely clear search history you should also clear browser history.

Hope it helps!

Clearing search history in Mozilla:
• Select "Tools"
• Select "Internet Options".
• Open the "Content" tab.
• Click the "AutoComplete" button.
• Click the "Clear forms" button to clear all AutoComplete form data and/or click the "Clear Passwords" to clear restored passwords.

To clear search history in Firefox (Google search history in Firefox, yahoo search history in Firefox):
• Select "Tools"
• Select "Options".
• Open the "Privacy" tab.
• Click the "Clear" button in the "Saved Form Information" area.

If you don't want Firefox to save this data in the future (search history), remove the check mark from the "Save information I enter in web page forms and the Search Bar".
Also you can clear search history using Clear All History "Clear browser history" feature for Firefox.
