Think you can care for the environment and eat animals? Think again, chum. You are going to hell if you eat meat and you don't care about anyone or anything but yourself.

That's just babbling nonsense. I care enough about the environment to realize my place in it. Do you expect not to be eaten when you die? Think again. You are not better than any of the other animals simply because you refuse to accept your place in the food chain.

There are none. Most humans will eat meat till the day they die, and never once feel sorry about it any way, shape, or form. Humans have killed and slaughtered animals for the entire history of mankind, and will continue to do so. Actually, if all of mankind were to stop eating meat, it would be much more cruel to the animals on earth, since most of them would starve to death or die of diseases that they would be vaccinated against if they we still being used as food. Animals that are commonly hunted would be much more prevalent as roadkill on the sides of highways because there would be no population control. In short, most animals would suffer more if people didn't eat meat than they ever will by being used as meat. Your best course of action if you stick with your decision to not eat meat is to just say its a personal choice you don't want argue about, and ask them to leave it alone and keep your mouth shut. Myself and most of the people I know(all meat eaters) would ask you to leave their homes if you tried to make an issue of it, simply because we are not going to put up with someone trying to make us feel bad about something that we know is not morally wrong. Just for the record, if I were ever in a situation where me and my family were desperately hungry, then yes, my pets would find their way to my dinner table before my family starved. No, I wouldn't enjoy it, or enjoy doing it, but if its necessary, they I'd do it. And I have eaten cattle, pigs, and chickens that I have helped raise. Never once had a single problem with slaughtering them(some with my own hands). I am not a murderer, and not a bad person. I am a very good, moral, and ethical person. Your grandparents and great great parents who were most likely meat eaters were most likely good people as well.

I would love for you to show us unenlightened ones where in the bible it says you go to hell for eating meat. I mean, I had 18 years of bible instruction and I can't remember one of the seven deadly sins eating meat. Unless YOU think you decide who goes to hell...and since last time I checked, you weren't god *otherwise you'd surely change everyone to vegetarians* you didn't have that choice.

Oh..and then there's the little problem of hell being an invention to scare people into submission. I"m quaking in my boots. Instead of attacking such a broad group...maybe you should direct your anger towards something more specific...like KFC or McDonalds.

And yes...you are right about one thing...I don't care about anyone else but me...g**d*mn I love me.

Vitamin B12 is a member of the vitamin B complex. It contains cobalt, and so is also known as cobalamin. It is exclusively synthesised by bacteria and is found primarily in meat, eggs and dairy products. There has been considerable research into proposed plant sources of vitamin B12. Fermented soya products, seaweeds, and algae such as spirulina have all been suggested as containing significant B12. However, the present consensus is that any B12 present in plant foods is likely to be unavailable to humans and so these foods should not be relied upon as safe sources. Many vegan foods are supplemented with B12. Vitamin B12 is necessary for the synthesis of red blood cells, the maintenance of the nervous system, and growth and development in children. Deficiency can cause anaemia. Vitamin B12 neuropathy, involving the degeneration of nerve fibres and irreversible neurological damage, can also occur.

There is no plant source so it has to be extracted from animals. Humans are omnivores. Not herbivores, not carnivores, but omnivores. We are dependent upon animal and plant for nourishment. The idea that raising animals for food does more damage to the environment than raising plants for food is ludicrous at best. It's my opinion that you are suffering the effects of the anemia brought on by a lack of B12, and that the accompanying neuropathy has clouded your thinking. If your god wanted you to eat nothing but plants, why did he make B12 so important to your survival. (Was he thinking that if he got you all to stop eating meat he could wipe you out and start over?)

Meat eater here....

I know it's wrong, kind of like smoking but with the added sadness of harming other creatures directly. It's a difficult cultural habit to shed.

I wasn't even thinking about it when I saw your question. I am going to talk to my wife about both of us stopping today.

I don't believe in hell, but I would like to reduce the amount of pain in the world.

Thanks

Meat is a part of everyday life this is food for people to survive you just can't change like that even wild animal need to eat meat is called survival . Man cannot eat vegetables and wilt out meat your body need that fat and protein from other animals. You need to tell other the Tigers and alligators that they can't eat and then they will it seems cruel but it's part of survival if I'm wrong please correct me.

Actually the original environmentalists and conservationists were hunters (last time I checked, they eat meat). In fact all of your Govt sponsored conservation and environment activities to include National Forrests, Preserves, and Parks are supported mainly by taxes on guns, ammunition and hunting licenses.

I'm going to hell because I enjoyed a double cheeseburger, only ketchup, at Mickey D's? You're kidding, right?
I think someone forgot to take their meds today. Do you even hear yourself speaking?
