An academic degree is supposed to mean that you have a base amount of knowledge in the field that the degree is in, and some competance at applying said knowledge. Cheating devalues everyone's degree, and it devalues everything the cheater does in the future.
Look at MLK, who was caught plagarizing in college. There will always be some lingering doubts whether his great speeches were entirely his own.
Washington and Lee has one rule: Every student is a gentleman. The honor code is enforced by the students, and the only penalty is expulsion. If only more high schools and colleges were so strict.
It also is a matter of trust: Who would want a doctor who plagarized their way through medical school. If you were an astronaut on the Space Shuttle, would you want a flight engineer helping you who cheated his way through his masters degree? Do you trust politicians who are caught lying or faking their credentials?

Cheating is wrong, I do not feel there are any circumstances this behavior should be tolerated. If you want the grade than work for it in my opinion. If you cheat your not learning anything and what is the point in trying ot obtain higher education if your going to cheat your way through the process and come out knowing as much as you did when you began. I don't feel anyone should get a grade they did not work for.

Cheating of any kind is wrong. I don't quite know what you mean by fair or unfair but from a moral standpoint I think its is wrong. In the send of fair or not, I would hate to see someone who cheated get better grades than someone who actually studied/worked.
Cheating is ancceptable to me - no matter what.

Unfortunately some students don't have integrity! Cheating is unfair to all. It hurts those who is working and trying their best but may be overlooked by those who cheat and get better grades.

I think anyone found guilty of academic cheating should be booted off that campus for life!
I am married, have a kid, work, AND attend college. I have to study the best that I can when I get the opportunity, and I EARN my grade. For someone to cheat to get ahead is just despicable to me.

I think it's better to pass an exam, not fail it. So if u didn't have time to study for 1 exam (or 2) then go for cheating, but try not to get caught. Who cares now about fair or unfair...u have to do what u have to do....just don't cheat on all exams because that's unfair...

C;mon Khat, if you can't decide whether cheating is fair or unfair, you must need remedial childhood training.
It's a no-brainer...

I really would want to fly in an airplane in which the pilot cheated his way through flight school, or the mechanic cheated his way through mechanics school. How about you?
