say a question is not "racist" and if you truly knew that it wasn't why do you always have to preface it with that statement? Are you afraid to stand behind your comment? Does that weaken your point of view? I think that some questions on here that have to do with race are brilliantly stated, however some are either just plain stupid venting or over generalized comments about an entire race. For the people who make these comments, Why? Serious answers only this questions is meant for honest straight forward answers rude of harassing comments are not welcomed!!!!!!!

nobody wants to be accused of racism, it's a stigma that is difficult to escape, therefore sometimes people preface good questions that way.

Many people have a hard time putting their thoughts into words and many times what they think may come out wrong. These people may just be afraid that their comment will be misinterpreted. It does not always mean that they do not stand behind their comment.
To state that is being quite unfair. Not all people are as articulate as you, but do they not have the right to state an opinion? And for them to make sure that their comments are taken the proper way, maybe it is better for them to preface the statement that way. I am not being rude to you, I just know of many people who cannot always find the correct way of stating some things.

I honestly think that most people are afraid of the label of being a racist and no one wants to be thought of as a racist. However, when one sees certain characteristics that seem to abound in one particular 'race', it begins the question of differences in the races. So, when someone is questioning the characteristic, in an effort not to sound racist, the disclaimer is used.

Please, all readers, keep in mind that all people have the same DNA. All peoples have human DNA. The difference in blonde hair or brown, curly hair or straight, light skin or some darker shade are only traits carried in the genes that comprise DNA. People are people and race does not exist in the natural world.

It's probably this way; the person making the comment knows that a certain kind of people are not ALL like that, but they're going by their observation.
Say a person who owns a store has a problem because most of the green people who come in steal his bananas. He knows that there are some very decent green people out there who don't steal bananas but when he tells of his experience, naturally his comments about green people will sound negative and probably racist.

Hi
I'll tell you what , you cant say Nutt'n anymore without it offending some idiot! SOME people have nothing better to do on here , than to cry about stuff. I kinda feel sorry 4 them. Man , & I thought I had no life.
SO , I can understand why some peeps generalize thier answers. Ya cant blame them 4 doing it , with all the Wussy's out here whin'n & cry'n . It's pathetic!
anyway , what was the question??

Ignorant people like you will answer saying "you're a racist" when the author of the question is talking about a serious issue that involves race, that's why. What exactly is a "rude of harassing comment" anyway?

Some people take anything you say as a racist statement, so by prefacing your question you at least hope that they might look at it a little more open minded.
That would be my guess, but I don't think I've ever done that.

in this day and age most people are afraid of standing behind there beliefs. Everything has gotten so messed up, with the politically correct crowd, that there is actually very little that you can do or say that isn;t going to offend someone. I don;t go by that, if I beleive it, I say it. If i believe in it, I do it. Most people repect me for that, the ones that don;t are not the kind of people i want to be associated with anyways.

Because some people have a problem with every damn thing.
If they wouldn't put that, there are ignorant people who will scream racist just because it's a question about one race or another. Then there are people like you who have a problem if they do put it, & think "well, if they weren't being racist they wouldn't even think to put that." People need to lighten up & not turn every little pissing thing into such a big friggin deal. We're damned if we do, damned if we don't.

I have seen in the Daily Show with Jon Stewart how he analizes big meadia corporations using question marks in order to say what they want to say. When you ask a question you can pretty much say whatever you want, you are just asking. but when there is no question mark....you question becomes a statement and then is when you get in trouble
