I am in a wedding on saturday, and i need to do my own makeup. My dress is brown. My hair is brown, and my eyes are green, and I would say I have fair skin (golden undertones). Can anyone recommend some good colors for lips/cheeks/eyes?? Nothing too bold as I don't usually wear makeup, but I do want to look nice. Thanks!

Plum shadow will bring out the green in your eyes, and is complimentary to brown hair. Apply a "nude" color of shadow accross your whole lid, then smudge in the plum near your lashline. Blend the plum upward toward the crease of your eye.

Wear a light lipgloss instead of lipstick. It will feel better to the touch, and if it is not too heavy, still fairly transparent, it will look good on you no matter what. (WARNING! Try to pick out a natural looking color....bright red probably won't work on you.)

For cheeks, i don't know what to tell you accept to apply lightly, or maybe use a light bronzer instead.

FOR FREE!!!! you can go to a good cosmetics counter (clinique, estee lauder, etc...) at your local department store and get a free consultation where a makeup specialist will show you what colors, and how to apply them (of course they will want you to buy their products, but you don't have to to get the free treatment)

HAHAHA I just finished typing and realized the above said almost the exact same thing! Great minds think alike!

Here is the following I suggest to use in subtle amounts, but noticeable enough to "dress your face", to say in a matter of speaking:

For lips: Considering your colors (brown, green and fair), I would suggest a soft pink, rosy-brown or plum-- but really soft for the plum!

*Special tip for lips*: If you lips are too large, with lipliner blending your lipstick color, precisely trace your lips smaller. And the opposite for small lips.

For cheeks: A soft pink or ligth brown at the very apple of the cheeks.

For eyes: Considering the colors you'll most likely have for makeup (and your eye color), try a soft violet or green. Both will be mysteriously striking while still being soft all the same. A sort of gentle mystery effect, let's say. ; ) I recommend no or very littleeyeliner seeing as how you've just started makeup and want no boldness whatsoever. If you choose the latter, very little eyeliner, try carefully underlining your eyes and ending at the exterior with a little diagonal flick, to make eyes more almond-shaped and sweet.

Hope this helps, good luck and have a good time!! My blessings to the soon-to-be-newly-wed couple. : )

You should go with a pale pink or a shade of brown (try not to use a brown with a red undertone). You can even try purple. You should also put a tiny bit of white or silver in the inner corner of your eye, on the top lid, then blend it with whatever color you choose. If you are younger I'd go with a shimmery shade, but if you are middle aged or older, I'd try not to use too much sparkle. If you want, you can try some eyeliner. Eyeliner on the top looks pretty, but it might be difficult for someone new to makeup. On the bottom, it's easier, but makes your eyes appear smaller. With your cheeks, you can probably leave them alone, or even put a very small amount of bronzer along your cheek bone, to make your face look more defined. If you have thin lips, avoid dark colors. Try a sheer color - a nude (a very very light brown), or a sheer, light pink. You don't need to line your lips, but if lipstick tends to bleed, or your really want to, go with a clear lipliner or a lipliner as close to the lip color you choose as possible. Add a bit of gloss to the bottom lip - don't overdo it! And then mush your lips together to blend.. Good luck and I'm sure you'll look beautiful!

Because you're wearing earth tones, I would definitely keep the same theme with your makeup. For the eyes, I would suggest a med brown for the lid and a golden/bronze shadow for the brown and outer area. If you want to wear eyeliner, brown would be nice. It will define your eyes without being too bold. If you don't want your eyes to have a "drawn on" look, try using a smudge brush (or a q-tip). For the cheeks, a very light bronzer would be nice (you don't always have to wear blush). For the lips, if you're playing up your eyes (especially if they're your best feature), you don't need color on the lips. I'm a gloss girl (it adds shade with shine and moisturizes your lips continuously). If you do want color on your lips, I suggest Bonnebell. They have a gloss shade called Frosted Champagne that I use constantly. Good luck.

I would say, use a little bronzer on your cheeks. Gold eyeshadow looks nice with brown and people with your colouring, but just a light dusting over the whole eyelid. Or a light green to compliment your eyes. You may want to try to apply some liquid eyeliner too :) If you don't want anything too bold, I would go for clear lipgloss maybe. It depends what you like really. I would say keep it simple if you're not too confident using it if you've only started wearing it :D

You could either go for the whole autumn colours things like gold and bronze for your eyes or go ultra feminine with pale lavender for your eyes, a light bronzer for cheeks, light brown eyeliner and brown/black mascara and a pale pink on the lips.
Best advice is to go the makeup counter at a big department store and get them to make you up. Then you can see whether these ideas suite you. Of course the most important thing is foundation and concealer. If that isn't right the whole look will be wrong

I agree with the others here that suggest a professional consultation. This is a very big day and you will, no doubt be in a lot of photographs. It would be horrible for you to "overdo it" with the makeup and end up looking like a clown or something. I suggest going to the MAC, Shiseido or Estee Lauder counter at your local department store and let them hook you up with a free makeover and some samples. Go ahead and splurge on a good foundation (they'll color match you, don't worry) and then you can get less-expensive lipstick, blush and eyeshadow at the drug store based on the colors they recommend. That would be my recommendation since you probably don't want to spend a lot of money on cosmetics since you don't wear them that often. Good luck!

okay you say you have to wear brown and your hair is brown - brown goes well with a pastel light pink and green eyes go great with brow or light pink . so I think that the best thing would be wearing black mascara with pink eyeshadow and pink blush and foundation or powder. and for lips wear a simple gloss try this before the wedding trust me it should look great if you need to ask more about anything - instant message me at lagunabeachluver_82@yahoo.com

i love makeup!!!! first, even out your complexion with a light foundation and loose translucent powder. then dust your cheeks with a bronzer (use a big brush) then put light pink blush on the apples of your cheeks(the apples when u smile.) Then use gold, green, or tan eyeshadow, use black mascara (one coat) and dark brown or black eyeliner underneath your eyes(not too much) line your lips with a coffee colored lip liner then put on a nude or pink lipstick and blend with the liner. dont leave a lip liner line though. finish with a touch of gloss in the center of your bottom lip...and u are ready to go!

I have green eyes and fair skin. A gentle mauve looks good on my eyes . . . and you can use Loreal "true match" powder. I'd use a pinkish blush.
Since you're so unfamiliar with makeup, I'd suggest going to a makeup counter at a department store. They can help build confidence . . .
