We use a lot of Dell computers where I work, both desktops and laptops. They are well made and service is excellent.
We also use IBM and HP/Compaq. These systems are also well made. The quality level on HPs has improved recently and I'm seeing more of these systems ordered instead of the Dells.
You really can't go wrong with any of those manufacturers. Right now Dell is offering discounts on certain models. You need the link and offer code in order to take advantage of these. I saw a couple flyers in the Sunday newspaper.

I have a dell desktop and 2 laptops , I like them and never had a problem with getting something replaced if needed. Although customer service can be backed up some times and be on hold for 30 minutes but Yes there worth the money.

What really matters is price; how much can you get for your money? Different vendors do sales from time to time, so the best computer to get depends entirely on who is offering the best deal. Make sure that you shop around before deciding--there are lots of other manufacturers that are just as good as Dell, which itself is not at all a bad choice.

I only buy dell computers because they are usually the best and they offer great repair services. (not like they will ever need repairing!!) I would only buy elsewhere if I wanted an AMD prosessor instead of Intel

Hi,
Dell have reliability issues., although they are competitively priced. If you can afford it go for HP-Compaq they are best.
