you might get a sore throat. you swallow from time to time because your saliva builds up. if you had your mouth open all the time, the back of your throat would become dry and when you closed your mouth to swallow your saliva, it would become irritated and soar.

natural, some people are mouth breathers, others breath through their noses. I have always been a mouth breather, rarely use my nose. It is automatic; guess you can train yourself to breath one way or the other. Mouthbreathers can learn to use scuba respirators a lot quicker! Only drawbacks of being a mouthbreather is dry mouth, and sucking in things such as hair or close flying bugs.

It could be sinus problems that makes you more comfortable breathing through your mouth...which could dry lips, throat, and could cause snoring and apnea at night. Talk to your Dr.
