There is no question that soccer has the largest fan base in the world, and that no other sport has demonstrated the level of violence in the stands and on the streets that soccer does.
All pro sports have security guards. Some have a police presence, University of Alabama has state troopers guarding the team and the coach, but many, MANY soccer games have armed military lining the field, the potential for violence is so strong.

Largest? Not sure. Craziest? Soccer....without a doubt. The U.S. (for any sport) has never had the crazy rioting that Europe has had for soccer games. In the U.S., however, nobody can say that football doesn't have the largest fan base.

Soccer, those south american guys go insane over the matches. Beating the crap outta the guy next to you and then take the feild and beat the crap outta the players. Always a good time.
