your pH levels could be off. Before you head to the doctor try this: 1 cup distilled vinegar, 1 cup table salt, in a warm bath filled just a few inches, enough for a sitz bath. sit in that with your knees "butterfly" style for 20-30 minutes. pH levels can be affected by a number of things: too wet, too dry, sex, and infection. Vinegar helps restore your body to normal pH. If you don't have any unusual discharge or a foul odor, I would suggest trying this and maybe use Vagisil for the itch for just a couple days before you spend time and money at the doctors. Be on the safe side though and avoid sex until it is resolved. If it is yeast it can spread to your partner. Good luck.

Sometimes it could be from not being clean enough. Another problem could be from too much soda. Try drinking some cranapple juice at least once a day and stay away from caffine. Also, if you are having sex, make sure that your partner is clean in that area...also his hands, some people don't think about it, but if a man's fingers or fingernails are dirty; then that will start a bacteria infection. First thing, wash the area each time you go to the restroom, then get some anti-ich cream, if it gets worse, then I would go to a doctor for possible yeast, bacteria, or UTI infection.

I have a feminine side which compels me to keep my nails clean and bathe daily, so I feel I am qualified to answer this question. No, you probably do not have an infection. there are all kinds of good bacteria that help to regulate things down there, inside and outside on the surface of the skin. Sometimes these bacteria get out of balance, when that happens you may experience the things you have described. If you changed detergent or soap lately that may be a cause. Use a gentle soap like dove and if the problem persists see a doctor.

sometimes before people get a herpes outbreak, the area gets very itchy and 'hot' feeling. it could be this. sometimes people carry herpes and don't have outbreaks. if you are concerned about this, get a blood test for herpes types I and II.
could be yeast or BV. if you have discharge that is thick, clumpy and white, it could be yeast. if you have discharge that is thin, watery or smelly (like fish), it could be BV. these aren't *caused* by sexual contact, but having sex can throw the pH balance of the vagina off and then *that* causes yeast or BV. a quick speculum exam and swab will tell your doctor if you have either of these infections.
i'd agree that drinking more water and less caffeinated drinks will probably help. and i think that getting some external yeast creams would make the discomfort less.
definitely go see a doctor or nurse practitioner!

Could be a yeast infection, if there is any white, thick or clumpy discharge. It can make the outside itch. You can get a cream for it over the counter at the pharmacy.

ok im a guy too but i know stuff. i troll yahoo answers...anyways. it could be a yeast infection. it could also be jock itch. its easily spread. get a mirror and take a close look for the tell tale sign of ringworm. if its circular then thats what it is most likely. honestly a gynocoligist would be most qualified to help you with your problems.

You have a mild yeast infection- hopefully that is all. Get a tube of Gyne Lotrimon. Dont scratch it it will only get worse, and by the way dont have sex with your BF for 3 days until it is treated. It will make his parts all itchy too :(

You probably have a yeast infection, which are really common. They are treatable with creams you can buy at the store without a prescription. If you haven't ever had one before you probably should visit your doctor to confirm it. Once you've had one though, you can just treat it yourself if you get one again.

it could be an infection or it may be the soap or shower gel you are using. start using baby shampoo (can get it at walmart...equate version will do just fine.) Also, get some cream...anti-itch and burning...if u dont feel better in a week, go to your gyno.
