A blower is a supercharger!
there are a couple types of chargers that all have there own pro's and con's.
Roots charger, centrifugal screw charger, and the centrifugal charger(compressor end of a turbo with a pulley on the other end of the shaft.
Then there is the good old turbo....

Remember this! A charger gives you boost from idol to about 5,500 rpm's. (unless its has been under-driven)
a turbo gives boost from about 1,500 to 3,000 rpm's and goes all the way to red-line...A turbo is the most efficient of all of them cause it uses wasted energy from the motor(hot exhaust gases) to push it.
A charger on the other hand uses 15% of your horses just to move it since it is belt driven.

I would highly recommend doing some research on all of the charger types cause they all have there own pros and cons too.
the best one in my opinion is the centrifugal screw charger. it can put out the most boost with the lest amount of heat and it wont leak as much at higher rpm's!

To a charger heat is the worst enemy.
To a turbo heat is its best friend.

Blower = Supercharger just a different name for it.

You will need to find out if you are able to get one for your specific car. You can retro fit one on - BUT - will need to get it approved by a state smog inspector after the installation, so you can get a C.A.R.B cert to run it for smog.

Good Luck

They are one in the same. It just depends on who you are talking to as to what they call it.
