Yeah it is considered an impulse disorder. I don't know about believing it or not believing it. It exists so I don't know how one can not believe it. It operates like other addictions.

The first thing I would ask you about is your childhood. Did your parents have a good marriage? It sounds like the only way you know how to connect with people (don't know if you are gay or straight) is through sex. It's possible that you were exposed to sex as a child and now you find sex a compulsion you must act out on. If you really want a substancial relationship with somebody, your first step is to get help. You need to be able to look at people (men or women) as more than just sex objects. I'm thinking that you are asking this question bc you want to change. If you do not want to change, then good luck but the way you are living you will never find true love.

Yes, I was a sex addict. I really believed I had to have sex. I didn't want a boyfriend , just a good sex partner. The pastor at a church told me I had a demon of lust. Guess what? He was right, I prayed and cast it out in the name of jesus. It didn't happen over night. An excellent sex partner came into my life and destroyed it for 4 years. I fell in love with the sex, but I thought it was love. How wrong I was!

The concept of hypersexuality replaces the older concepts of nymphomania (or furor uterinus) and satyriasis. Nymphomania was believed to be a psychological disorder characterized by an overactive libido and an obsession with sex. In males the disorder was called satyriasis. Females, nymphomania.
Nymphomania owes its name to the feminine nature spirits of Ancient Greece, known as nymphs. Satyriasis owes its name to the mythical masculine creatures of Ancient Greece, half man/half goat creatures known as satyrs.
The threshold for what constitutes hypersexuality is subject to debate, and critics question whether a standardized diagnostic threshold even exists. Sex drive varies widely in humans, and what one person would consider a "normal" sex drive might be considered excessive by some and low by others. The consensus among those who consider this a disorder is that the threshold is met when the behavior causes distress or impaired social functioning. The central features of these disorders are that sexual activity is an insatiable need, often interfering with other areas of everyday functioning. Sex is impersonal, with no emotional intimacy and despite frequent orgasms, sexual activity is generally not satisfying.
Similarly, men with sexual dysfunction might accuse their partners of being oversexed in an effort to hide their own fears or sense of inadequacy, just as some women who object to the frequency of their partner's sexual advances might accuse him of being oversexed.
The difference is that the double standard which exists in our society congratulates a man who is highly sexed and has many partners, calling him a "stud", whereas a woman with the same behavior is often called a "nympho", which carries a negative connotation.
These people are still human beings and are just suffering from a psychological disorder which can be cured through therapy. Remember that there is a hidden cause why these people have a high sex drive mainly due to their experience during childhood, they may be victims of abuse and other circumstantial that made them turn to sex instead. These people would need more of our understanding without being judgemental.

Addiction to wine or sex works against will power. If one has to give up any kind of addiction his willpower must take upper-hand over addiction. In this way addiction can be given up.

sex is a organic and organic mechanism it really is meant for use for copy. looking it satisfying is a aspect-result to 'trick' us into doing it, interior an same way that maximum of use sense good by skill of ingesting extreme-sugar ingredients or having a nap. maximum creatures are pushed to bypass on as a lot of their DNA as conceivable by sex. human beings in spite of the indisputable fact that are sentient and characteristic loose will, so the regulations do not extremely follow to us interior an same way. we've got here across recommendations of 'fooling' nature by skill of allowing us to get the excitement of sex devoid of the reproductive component. in spite of the indisputable fact that the important evolutionary 'factor' of sex continues to be to reproduce, besides the actual shown reality that in my view the 'factor' is extremely irrelevant to our species.

They have also found that in many cases this type of behavior is caused by some type of psychological trauma. Most often associated with being molested as a child but having no memory of it.

Yes there is and there is also help for it if you want to get the help to stop it and live a normal life according to society. If it is not causing you any problems of trouble then you are not that bad but if it is causing you problems where you are getting into trouble legally then you need to seek help to stop the behavior.
