1.Treat others as you would like to be treated.
2.If you can't do any good,at least don't do any harm.
3.Be alert and aware of your surroundings.
4.Be wary of strangers.
5.Don't drink and drive.
These would be my top five rules for everyone, everywhere.
None of them are especially original but I think if people followed
them there would be less trouble in the world.

One rule really would do it if everyone followed it all the time & it is
The Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have done unto you.

Don't eat the yellow snow.
Think for yourself - do not delegate thought & conciense to any political party, religious organisation or friends. You may/will still get it wrong - but it will be YOUR decision.
When you make a choice - be responsible for the outcome (e.g. If you are stopped for speeding - don't complain, like you did nothing wrong).

Be kind. To yourself, to others, to animals, to the planet as a whole. We're all in this together. Hurting someone or something else inevitably comes back to you...

Respect others is about it - the only absolute truth. And I'd add don't hurt children to that too.

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" pretty much covers a lot of life's situations.
