ok, what would be faster off the line, 0-60, 1/4 mile, and top speed? 2000-2002 Camaro SS/Z-28, or 2000-2002 Mustang GT? i also heard that the Z28 is governed at 108, is that true?

The Camaro is limited to 155 MPH unless it came with non speed rated tires from the factory. In that case, it is limited to108. My Z was limited to 155 from the factory. A cheap programmer will fix this however. I wouldn't worry about the GT, but the 03 Cobra is another story - 390Hp. The problem you'll run into on the street with these cars is that MANY of them are no longer stock. From your last 2 questions, you seem to be interested in the fourth Generation Camaro's. I recommend you go to www.ls1tech.com and look around. For the most part, the people there are extremely knowledgeable about the LSX engines. There are also a lot of people there that race a lot so you can find more of what you are looking for easily.

ps - for the post after mine - I'm not tryin to start an argument, but the 5.7LS1 is a 346CID aluminum engine, not a 350. As far as the Camaro's traction control - it sux. If you try to rely on the traction control to launch, you will lose. I have 2 of these cars, and I've raced a lot of different cars with them. I am very impressed by how the LSX engines perform, but I'm also aware that they are not the fastest thing on the planet in stock form. (There are very few STOCK cars that can keep up though) A 2003 Cobra WILL EAT UP a stock 98-02 camaro provided the driver knows how to drive. Especially if the Cobra is pullied - which most that you will run into are.

plain and simple the 00 -02 mustangs would just sit and spin due to a lite rear and nothing controling it. as far as engine it wasn't even a 302 which is a 5.0 liter it was a 4.6.
camarow on the other hand had a system set up to prevent spinning and launch the car properly along with more weight in the erear for traction. they had a 5.7 liter engine a 350.
the camaro would make short work of the rustang.
even the cobras would have problems with camaros.

but now the question is mustang and gto or corvette gm once agai rips ford plus has a higher resale value

mustang gt has 260hp, ss has 325hp and 6 speed. It is definitely not governed at 108, they top out at around 155-160ish. The 4.6 GT is a joke for performance and is way overrated. Its also a lousy platform for modifications. The LS1 rules.

Being that the Mustang comes with a 4.6L V8 and the Camaros have a 5.7L LS1 I would say the Camaro.
