I just read that a gunmal killed 6 people at a one-room Amish school in PA. A few days ago, a school principal in WI got shot, and a couples of weeks ago a girl got killed in CO. All this in less than six months.

This is so sad and scary. what can we do as a society to prevent things like this to continue to happen?

Stop reporting them in national media -- it encourages copy cats. Those on the fringe get the "boost" then need to push them over the edge when they see/hear it happening.

I don't know if there is a perfect solution.

The first step though is for parents to be involved with their kids and keep the weapons locked up. although in Colombine, the kids supposedly broke into another person's house for the guns.

I also think that the schools have to watch all of the kids, especially those who sift through the cracks. They are the ones who don't cause trouble and are quiet.

Kids are bored because teachers don't teach. Kids are calloused because they've watched 30,000 murders and rapes on TV before they turn 18. Kids are bitter because they are bullied, or neglected, or both. Kids are drawn to mayhem because our society draws them to it with vulgar language, lack of respect for authority, a "win at all costs" mentality, and total disregard for other human beings who might be of a different race, religion, sexual persuasion or political view. Kids are kids because they haven't matured enough to grasp all this evil and put context to it, so they assume it's okay to kill someone they don't like because that person will be back in the next episode of life anyway. Kids are easily influenced by movies, video games, and the bigoted hatred spread by the likes of the conservative-biased media shouting heads like Republican propagandists Shawn Hannity and Rush Limbaugh. So, let's put the blame where the blame belongs: on parents, teachers, the government, movies, media outlets, and greedy, hateful, bigoted adults who make millions of dollars screaming their filth and political drivel on television. -RKO-

The behaviors in schools only reflect the culture the kids are raised in, so your question needs redirecting to "What's going on in our families?" God Bless you.

Treat people equally some people just don't see how they treat other people until it's to late, but our government has a lot to do with that but they aren't paying with their lives it's us but mainly our children.

Some kids, especially teenage boys can be really nasty. Head teachers should show them that nothing will go unpunished before they go to far.
