Call the police and have them come and take it to a forensic examiner / coroner.
Deer bones are thinner than human bones, but unless you are very familiar with both it will be hard to make a determination. The examiner/coroner will have enough experience with both to be able to tell after looking at it for a second or two.

If it's a deer bone you would find evidence of gnawing, marks in bone.
If human, the bone will resemble closely one of your own, in this case, your thigh.
I would take it to the coroners office if I were you. You might have Jimmy Hoffa right there in your back forty.

I would contact a friend, neighbor, or family member who is in the medical field. Surely someone who has had medical training would be able to tell. If it is human, contact the police immediately.

It's probably Amelia Earhart, or possibly Jimmy Hoffa.

You should call the non-emergency telephone number for the police, and ask them what you should do.
