Not yet (knock wood).

Buy from reputable dealers, and look for the padlock on the lower right of the window and https (instead of http) before giving out any personal information.

Whenever I purchase online, I first open a blank Word document. I capture each window of the transaction and copy/paste it to the Word doc. In this way I have a full record of the deal.

If you do not check a company before purchasing a product or service from it, you could lose your money, time and credibility. Some widely used resources are the Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.org) and the national fraud center (www.fraud.org).

These days, you can easily find out more about a company using the Internet in a few minutes. From a company's website, you can get details about its ownership, how old the company really is and feedback from the company's customers.

Yup... I bought an "autographed" Hank Aaron baseball on Ebay and it was autographed alright... the guy who sold it signed it "Hank Aaron".

Try to make sure the place you're dealing with also has a physical building you can send mail to or visit. Places that exist only on the internet are like mirages....
