The reason none of the main characters are black (and the one semi-main one has been let go) is because the show was developed by, written by, produced by....etc. white people. Even though Ms. Longoria is also non-white (Latino) she has the ideal white appearance which you can't get with a black woman. It's not that they're aren't any black actresses that would love to be on a hit TV show, it's that they aren't being sought out! Shame on you Hollywood, you still stereotype and descriminate!!

They had a black main character last year... but they took them off the show.

Because neighborhoods, especially upper class white neighborhoods are still fairly segergated. Black people are rare, that's just real life. One is Hispanic, that should count for something.
I have to add that not including every race in every single endeavor is NOT necessarily a sign of racism. I'm not saying that is not the case here, I'm just saying it is not a given in all situations.

Because I have never seen yet a desperate Black house-wife they all have to work and their men keep them too satisfied to even have time to be desperate .beside those are not proper roles for our Black female or males we have come to far to play that type of role we are , westly snipes, Denzel washington , Jackson, Glover, Queen Latifa , Williams and many mor too name.

ABC is not targeting that segment of the viewing audience!!
If you wanna see black folks --go to the CW network--most of their shows feature a wide variety of people.

Because black actors/actresses still aren't regarded as leading men/ladies in mainstream white TV shows still in 2006 almost 2007.

They had a black women with two sons last year, but they sent her packing. She kept one of her sons locked up in the basement. Not a great portrayal of a black mom.
