It's the fact that he has had such tremendous success early in his career. First the AMA Superbike series where he was a champion and gained a lot of national recognition and respect, and now on the world GP stage where he is earning respect from the international fans with his consist, mistake free riding. In addition to his cool personality and a hard Kentucky accent, I think for many reasons Hayden has suddenly become an icon in the sport.
