A couple of things:

1. Bad parenting. Sometime in the last 15 years it became okay to sit your kid in front of the tv and/or video game console and think that is "watching" them. Kids today woud rather surf the net and post blogs than go outside and play, and that is making them really socially inept.

2. Bullying in the schools has gotten insane and some kids just snap. The teachers and administrators are afraid to suspend or expel a student who bullies because the parents might sue the school district. The litigious nature of our society is hurting us in many ways, and this is just one of them

Its lack of discipline, or the incorrect discipline, by the parents and the school's inaction to hazing and bullying. It is happening in the urban areas as well, unfortunately it happens too often and the suburban areas get the press when it happens there. Most urban school shootings happen after school hours so it isn't connected to the school. Its sad wherever it happens.

Some parents have a motto kids will be kids and that's their way of not getting involved and it's usually the parents of bullies that say that, my son was getting picked on so I called child protective services, the school broad and the police on that parent and her child, that mess stopped real quick. I talk to my son daily about fighting and being bullied and I tell the school staff if the matter isn't handled then we'll see if the police can solve the problem and I have made it clear to my son and the school that they can call me on my cell phone for anything because I will drop everything to see about him.

I had a long explanation wrote but it all pointed to one fact. all the people who did these shootings were losers who were going to be fry cooks anyhow. its sad they took other people out with them.

and to the human turd above me. If t.v. and video games is to blame, why do everyone shoot people? I own 200+ games and I don't own even one gun. do the math, blame the right thing...poor parenting enforced by the court. the court says i can't bust my kids *** for being a screw up, yet when they don't ever get in any real trouble, the court says I should have enforced some punishment. blame the parents for not standing up to the courts.

Do you know that Terrorists will use evry means to destroy the U.S.
We have a problem where crazed maniacs do stupid things, but what really bothers me is that terrorists will find a way that the American people will destory themselves and that kind of war canot be solved. It is better known as Dooms Day!

Huh? You mean like the kids who sit next to me at the library, and spend hours shooting people onscreen? For example.
