As you exercise or do strenuous work the amount of oxygen required to keep up with the rate of useage increases. Since the hemeglobin in the blood is what transports oxygen and the heart is the pump, your heart must beat faster to keep up with the demand for oxygen needed for the exercise or hard work.

Muscles need oxygen to perform work. The more they work the more oxygen they need. So the more strenuous the workout the more oxygen needs to be delivered to muscles, the oxygen is delivered by blood, so the blood needs to flow in biger volume and faster and so the heart needs to beat faster beacause it is a pump that pumps the blood. So the faster it pumps the faster blood circulates delivering more oxygen to working muscles.

it beats faster so more blood will be pumped through your body , you get oxygen from your blood as it pumps through your body when you are working out you need more oxygen to keep you feeling well and thinking clearly. notice you breath more also when your heart rate is up? excercise just speeds up your circlatory system, its very good for you , you should get your heart beating fast for at least 15 minutes a day.

As you exercise, the oxygen consumption in your muscles increases. The heart inturn tries to keep up with the demand by increasing the rate and supply the oxygen rich blood and exchange it with the high CO2 rich blood in your muscles.

to get more oxygen to your body, if u notice when u exercise you tend to breath deeper and heavier, try exercising without changing your normal breath patterns, like you would when your lounging around. I was told exercising works your muscles and heavy breathing works your body cause you breath heavier and that makes u burn calories and lose weight! so then that means we can sit and watch tv , breath heavy and lose weight all at the same time? thats why they say sex is good for the body!!

Your heart is a little muscle about the size of your fist. All it can do is try to run faster to keep up with you. :( Poor little heart. Good Luck ! :)
