basically could a diver dive from a plane and land in the sea and survive.assuming he landed well in the "safest entry position"

It's an interesting question. Cliff divers often dive over a hundred and fifty feet and live, in practice anything over 284 feet and your at terminal velocity anyway (head down in a diving position around 180 mph) , so I would guess somewhere in between? Wayne

He would hit the water at a speed of approx 120 mph, that is roughly the terminal velocity for a body falling through our atomosphere. I don't know if you would survive at this speed.
But, I can tell you it would be a very effective sinus flush!!!!

How high up is the plane? Is it at commercial flight height, in that case, probably not. It would be difficult. but if he had a parachute...

That would depend on his monthly pay packet and if he is using that pay packet to break the fall!!
