Try signing up for a Yahoo Group. There are thousands that deal with quilting. Read their descriptions, and choose one that suits your needs best. That way you won't have just one mentor, you'll have a few hundred.

Your best bet would be asking a relitive or someone to help you. It would be to hard over computer.
