I've been married for 22 years and what I fear most is losing respect for my partner.
We've been through every other thing a couple can endure and we've bounced back from it, but we both have noticed in all of our friends' marriages, a relationship can survive just about anything but lack of respect.
When that's gone, its over.

Not being trusted, it might sound minor but being in a relationship where either your not trusted or vice versa is pure hell you don't get to enjoy anything all you do is worry what the other person is doing when your not around or worrying that anything you do is gonna get you in trouble with the other.

Well, we've been through a lot of crap and after separating from him, I realize that those shared experiences, good and bad, are what have shaped our marriage.

I think divorce scares me the most. If one of us dies, then we don't have a choice, but divorce (my choice) is something that may happen to us.

We are working on it, but it may not work.

I'm afraid of him dying first, and then I'll have to try and live without him! Or the other way around...either way, it's going to be hard!
