Believe it or not, the world is not getting more dangerous - it's far safer than it's ever been. It's just that now you hear about these horrors whenever and where ever they happen. Even 50 years ago, when something like this happened chances are you'd never hear about it.
No child has ever been safe. It can be a dirty, sick disgusting world, but I think there are far more people who would rather give of themselves to help strangers than do strangers harm. Maybe it's just me, but I've seen a thousands acts of kindness and routine acts of unselfishness, every day. Think about that and remember the words of Gandhi:
"Be the change you wish to see".

that's a good question. I had an journey no longer almost as undesirable and that i elected no longer to forgive that individual yet to purpose to ignore that individual. i do not imagine the guy is entitled to forgiveness yet i'm entitled to positioned aside the anger in my options for my own earnings. My purpose develop into no longer to spend my time and ability centred on the incorrect-doer. lately there develop right into a well-loved homicide trial appropriate to a newborn and the relative suggested, "with a bit of luck, God will forgive him because I truly don't have any plans to finish that." I truly have examine that folk could paintings to strengthen the skill to forgive, yet i'm no longer particular that i visit ever purchase into that. If the criminal has replaced and suffers large regret, then I easily might want to evaluate it.

Perhaps we should all invest in bullet proof vests. It is not good to isolate yourself, for loneliness(too much of it) can kill.
This country needs to have a look at how we are raising kids. There is not enough of family life, and the way of the system, which is giving kids more and more therapy and medication, is not working!

Well, we can't forget about what's happening. Not only do our children need our help, but we have to find out why people are committing these crimes. Usually it is because of their environment; like they might have been abused when they were little, or they're in poverty, or something like that. If we find out why it's happening, then perhaps we can figure out how to stop it-in a peaceful manner.

I guess I just don't understand. There is so much depression and so much anger in the world today. It's not my business whether you believe in God or not, but certainly while the U.S. as a nation has pulled away from Christian leanings, what has happened to our society? I just don't understand why so many act as they do.

Read the Bill Dedman on MSNBC today. Very educational treatment of a very heartbreaking subject.
