here are several reasons for bleeding as a result of sexual intercourse (also called post-coital bleeding) in women. It is often caused by an inflamed area on the surface of the cervix (neck of the womb), and sex can cause it to bleed. This inflammation is called cervical erosion, and it is commonly found in young women, pregnant women and those on the contraceptive pill.

Bleeding may also be caused by small growths called polyps emerging from the cervix. These are almost always benign. In some cases, the bleeding may be caused by an infection (such as chlamydia or cystitis), or by changes to the cells of the cervix. It is important that this is checked by your doctor or family planning clinic.

It may also occur as a result of a decrease in the amount of vaginal secretions, which can lead to painful intercourse. This condition is called atrophic vaginitis, and usually occurs after the menopause when the lack of the female hormone oestrogen affects the levels of mucus in the vagina. Lubricating gels may help.

However, if you are also taking Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and have unexplained vaginal bleeding, you should consult your doctor for advice. Very rarely, vaginal bleeding after sex is caused by a malignant (cancerous) growth in the vagina or on the cervix, so it is very important that this is checked

it really depends on how old you are. a postmenopausal woman bleeding after intercourse should be seen by a doctor immediately. it could also be something as simple as a cervical polyp(similar to our bodies skin tags that we develop), and sex will irritate it and make it bleed. on the other hand, if you have a history of having abnormal pap smears you could have a severe inflammation on your cervix that needs checked immediately. or sometimes its just because your a little dry during sex and you should use a lubricant. in any case, you should be seen by a doctor immediately who can look at your cervix and determine the best reason for your symptoms. hope i have helped

Assuming you are not a virgin, women should not bleed during normal intercourse. You may have an infection. Or your partner was too rough. Or there was not sufficient lubrication.

Well it could be a number of reasons, but first and foremost, you need to make an appointment with a gynecologist to find out what is wrong. It could something as simple as your partner being a little long and hitting your uterus during sex, inadequate lubrication, too rough of sex, etc. It could be endometriosis or a number of other disorders as well. Only your doctor will know for sure, so please go get checked out!

If it is your first time, it is the hymen being broken (ripped) that bleeds.
