If you were to ask a maths teacher, preferably one who's not yours, why it always seems that maths teachers always come down hardest on their pupils, you might be surprised at the answer - it wouldn't be complimentary.

The first thing they'd tell you, as if it were a reflex action, is that "maths ISN'T boring".

Ask yourself this: did you call or text someone on your mobile today? Or play an MP3 on your iPod? Chances are, you benefited from something today that was the product of mathematics, or used mathematics, e.g. computing half fare on the bus ride to school.

The computers that designed those iPods and mobile phones, and coded the bits that make up the MP3s and phone calls and texts, used complicated mathematical formulae programmed into them to crunch the data into useful forms. In other words, without high level maths, you'd still be having to use phone boxes on street corners, and computers like this wouldn't exist.

Far from being boring, mathematics probably underpins every single aspect of your modern life, from the state of your bank balance to you guesstimating how many calories are on your dinner plate tonight.

So you could expect the maths teacher you ask to say something like "Boring, huh. Maths isn't boring. Pupils are ingrates." Or words to that effect.

And you can hardly blame them.

You must have really hated one or more of your math teachers, but you can't judge all by that. Does this mean that your mother, when she reached 45 or so (very, very old to you probably) will be a scum of the earth nasty woman?

LOL

Well, all in all, most old women are like that wheather they teach maths or not, but the more corporal old teachers expect more attention as they did back in their olden days, and often have short fuses.

And the minority of the old peoples are kind and generous but don't know ****, probably 'cause they never bothered with school lol, and or spent most of their days flower potting and spend days around nice dilly dally things.

Your parents are teachers and you write like that?? Good luck. Math teachers are probably "hard faced cows" because of students like you.

Becuase they wake up every morning knowing they have to deal with ungrateful children who will too late realize that they wished they'd taken the time in school to learn more.

Why are there always people like you who think it's funny to post negative remarks about people on the internet?

Why are there always people like you who like to criticize, but can't even type, spell or use complete sentences?

Why are there people like you who complain about something or blame somebody else just because they don't understand something?

The answer to my questions and yours is simply -- prejudice.
