Crossing a river or any other natural barrier may signify your desire to overcome some obstacle in your life. Perhaps it is something in yourself that you feel is holding you back in some way and you're trying to overcome it. The fact that there is a corpse floating in the river you are trying to cross, and you didn't recognize it, means that you are aware that there is something in yourself that is preventing you from overcoming your obstacle, but you don't know what it is - you can't recognize the part of your self that you feel you must change in order for you to better yourself. I suggest first try to recognize what area of your life you are trying to better, and then see if you can't find what part of yourself, or your behaviors, are hindering your progress.

I think you are the best person in the position of knowing what your dream means, because we all have our own unique associations. What words, feelings and thoughts come to you about a corpse and a river?
But, for what it's worth in helping you, here is my opinion: The corpse is an aspect of you that you have not been expressing. Lately, you have been trynig to get in touch with your emotions (this is the river you are tryng to cross), but there is some emotion that you have been repressing, and you are just starting to acknowledge it.

Corpses could be a figurative representation of death or an ending. It usually doesn't imply anything physical - but more of a thought, attitude, or idea. It all depends on the context (or what else happens in the dream.)

I know what your dream means with the new information. You want to get somewhere but something is holding you back. Or perhaps something will hold you back. As I said, the revelation of a corpse generally means an ending or termination of a thought or idea.

Corpse
To see a corpse in your dream, represents an aspect of yourself that has died. Or it may mean that you are unexpressive. You have shut yourself down and are dead inside

Here is what your dream means: You have a subconcious fear of crossing some new path. Something new is happening in your life OR you are wishing for it to happen on the other hand, it sort of scares you.

Usually to dream of death means the opposite, birth, sometimes even marriage. More often than not, to dream of death is actually a good thing, a sign of luck. FYI, for future notice, if someone you know passes, and you dream of them, it means that you've accepted their death.
