As he claimed on 60 Minutes last night, is this why not one person so far has stepped forward to deny their own voices and words on the tapes? Or deny they told Woodward what he claims they did?

Thank God for a free press in a free country.

Woodward is exactly WHY we have freedom of the press. The press is there to keep our government in check, and thank God they do it. I only wish more reporters would do it. Of course, I'm sure Bush is p.o.'ed at giving Woodward so much access now - and I'm further sure he'll never get that kind of access again. I guess he didn't expect him to be so honest?

WBrian28 makes a pretty good point--and I further wonder why Bush even allowed so much access for this one, considering Woodward hit the administration pretty hard in his previous two books.

The Bush administration is really starting to have the feel of the "Emperor's New Clothes". They have so completely convinced themselves that they can do no wrong in Iraq that they are not even trying to hide the fact that their concept of the war differs substantially from its reality. How much good does it really do to call someone a liar to their face when they have no shame in having been caught in the lie? Not much.

If the left feels justified in identifying the conservative "slant" they've discovered on evil FOX News, I wonder if they would concede that Bob Woodwad might just have a hint of liberal, anti-Bush bias?

Nah...what was I thinking?!! Bob Woodward is a straight-up truth teller. I'm sure one of these days he'll release a pre-election book that skewers some Democrat. (Right!)

I hear the money's pretty good too. Line up all you lemmings and buy the book!

Not sure if he recorded all of them, but he assiduously documented them. Woodward isn't some fly-by-night hack who made this up - he has a reputation for meticulous reporting, which is one reason he had so much access in this White House.

Thank God indeed.

If there are any "Heros" in this post 911 mess it is Woodward and Richard Clark.

Amen, that is what brought us Watergate, a free press, now it is pedigate, many other things would not be brought to light including the railroading of Clinton.

The tapes should be the "smoking gun" to prove the incompetence of the Bush administration. IMPEACH BUSH AT LONG LAST>
