No set time to lose that. I never lost mine. Some women lose theirs early and it comes back. Depends really, every woman is different. But usually you lose it 2-3 weeks before you deliver, but some women lose it 2-3 days before they deliver and some lose it 2-3 minutes before they deliver. Also, a lot of women dont notice when they lose it either..it is not always bloody, or brown or pinkish etc ...It really depends.

Some women may lose the plug at 36 weeks' gestation, while many others may not lose it until labor has begun. Sometimes moms-to-be may not even notice that they are losing their mucus plug because it happens gradually, over several weeks, and they've already grown accustomed to varying but increased amounts of the vaginal discharge that often accompanies a normal pregnancy. If you are earlier than 36 weeks' pregnant when you see blood-tinged mucus, or if you have any vaginal bleeding beyond the first trimester, you should call your practitioner.

I'm not a doc or nurse but i have had 3 kids and i always lost mine about 2 days before actually giving birth it was the same with all three ........however....if you lose very much liquid with this plug like a slow leaking or something ....you should see your doc right away because if in losing your plug you begin to lose amniotic fluid this could pose a potential risk of infection to the baby ...even if it ends up being just a little urine leakage its worth getting checked out ..........lots of luck and a big congratulations

You will lose your mucus plug prior to labour, this is sometimes called a show and is caused by pressure of the baby on your cervix and dilation of the cervix...however, you can have a show weeks before you actually have the baby, so it's not necessarily a sign you are in labour, but can indicate labour is imminent.

During my first pregnancy I lost my plug about 2 weeks before I was induced. It didn't all come out at once...it came out in clumps over a period of a couple of days. My OB told me I could actually lose part of it and it could grow back! So, I guess it just depends on your body. When I saw the biggest part of what I lost, I thought for sure I was going to go into labor on my own...but my doc induced me due to hypertension. Good luck to you and your baby, and enjoy all of your experiences!

With my first I didnt lose it until my waters broke during labour. With my 2nd I lost some every day from about 37 weeks, but the day I went into labour it had blood in it too.

Most women lose it a few days before delivery, but I knew someone who lost it a month before. It just means that your cervix is begining to open(dialate) hence the term "plug". Good luck.
