I had unprotected sex eight days ago, which was also the day after my period. I figured there was no way I could get pregnant, as I had sex on the 4th day of my cycle and I am on birth control pills, which I take religiously. I wasn't worried about it until this morning when I woke up and found light spotting. I'm not supposed to get my period until the 20th of October, and I am always regular. The only other time I have ever experienced spotting was when I was last pregnant. Other than that, I never spot. I haven't really had any other pregnancy symptoms, other than slight cramping (less than a period). I did just change birth control pill brands, so I'm hoping that's it but I'm worried this might be implantation bleeding. Could I still be pregnant, even though I'm on the pill and had sex way before I would ovulate anyway?

yes it is possible but you will have to wait a few more weeks until a test can tell.

It is possible that you could be pregnant even though you are on birth control pills but it seems unlikely since you really don't have any symptoms and you didn't have sex near your ovulation date. Sometimes when switching birth control pill brands, spotting does occur. The only way to know for sure, is to wait until your period is due. If you don't get a period then definitely take a test. First Response home pregnancy test can detect pregnancy as early as four days before your period is due.

It is possible, however, at the same time you did change your pill and it could be playing tricks on you.. I know this because when I use to be on it, until I found the rigth one for me, I would actually get my period 3 times a month....No joke!

Anyhow, Even if you buy a pregnancy test, it is way to early for it to detect the pregnancy hormone.... You can try it a few days b4 your period is due, but then, you might as well wait to see if you'll get your period.

The only sure way you can know right now is through blood tests.
Like I said, any other way, it's too early.

If you are cramping, it could be the pill or your uterus streching. I know that the waiting game is hard, but that is really what you might have to do.

Best of luck to you

I have 2 children and I religiously took Birth control pills and got pregnant with both of them while on the pill... Anything is possible... You really should take a pregnancy test... Birth control pills are unsafe to take while pregnant even in the first few weeks of pregnancy... If you're not pregnant just remember that no form of birth control is 100% effective...

If you just switched birth control brands, I would blame that for the spotting. Sometimes the hormone changes cause breakthrough bleeding. If your period doesn't come on the 20th, take a test, but I highly doubt that you are pregnant.

I think implantation bleeding occurs more around the time you would expect your period. If i were you, I would continue taking the pill, of you do not have your period by the 22nd/ 23rd oct, take a preg test. Taking the pill prevents ovultion and so it's very unlikely that you are pregnant.

get a pregnancy test kit and find out for sure. there's ones out there that can tell if you're pregnant 4 days before your period is due. or go to your dr and get a blood test - more accurate. pills are not proved to be 100%.

yes is possible remember that no birth contro method is 100% safe, but dont stress it yet though, wait to see if you get your period on time, if not take a pregnancy test or go to the doctor to get a blood test done. Good luck!

No i believe it is just the pill since you switched brands. The pill is supposed to keep you from ovulation. I very much doubt you are pg....Don't worry about it.
