hilton head is a great place to live if you are wealthy.. it is really expensive to stay there. alot of golf resorts, so big time players and money is there

Another place to consider is St. Simon's Island in Georgia. It is beautiful, more affordable, and a real place, rather than a resort community. Plus its a short drive from Jacksonville, Florida.

I get a lot of promotional info from them advertising real estate. My only concern there would be if it is possible to get insurance down there. The insurance companies reacted to the hurricane warnings by raising the prices for homeowners' and renters' insurance to sky high!

I have a relative who is a city planner there, and his family lives there and loves it.

I'd move there if I made enough money to afford the rather high cost of living it has.
