My mom was like that! My sister and I were not so "cursed", but at least I understand how you feel! Mom gained the most weight while drinking protein shakes, but you have to keep eating, too. She drank hers with a meal, because if she drank them before, she had no appetite. Also more carbs tend to help her keep her weight, she tries to eat pasta or potatoes at least twice a day. Also, aerobic workouts will just make you burn more calories, but strength training will help you bulk up some. Building muscle will up your calorie needs though, so be ready to take in more!
Just like an overweight woman, though, you need to learn to like you the way you are! Dress in clothes that make you look better(pencil leg jeans, fitted shirts) and you will feel better. My mom HATES hip-huggers, says they make her look like a teeny-bopper, but in reality they look fantastic on her. I know it is hard to find clothes that fit, that don't have a trashy feel, but it is possible. You probably already know this, but try the JRs. and girls sections.

I never thought I'd ever see another person looking to put on weight. I've had this problem my whole life... and I only saw it as an advantage in my late 30's. I'm sure you've tried everything from weight gaining shakes to fatty foods... and still nothing. Face the fact that it is your metabolism and there's not much you can do about it. I used to eat mayo by the spoonful... ate a whole stick of butter... fried everything in sight... and still nothing. People used to watch me eat and be amazed at how much I could pack away and never gain. The only thing that helped me put on any size was weight lifting. Muscle can pack on the meat that you're looking for... but that's also a commitment.
All the doctors I had seen kept telling me that once I hit my 30's, my metabolism would slow down... nothing doing! It seemed like it speeded up. I still have problems putting on weight (even during my pregnancies... I'm 5 months with my second), but I don't look at it as a curse anymore. Just revel in the fact that at a time when most people are packing on the pounds... you'll be looking fit & trim.
Finally... the best food for packing on weight is PASTA. If you can manage to do it... each about a pound of it everyday and you'll see some weight gain (but you will be packing on some bad weight with that). You do know that you need to consume an additional 3500 calories to pack on 1 pound of weight on top of what you need to sustain yourself. If you stick to this, and add the extra calories per week, you should see results within a few weeks. Good luck!

I've always had trouble gaining weight. If you want to add good weight and not just Mc Donalds fat weight eat alot of protein. I boil about 36 eggs at a time. Eat 2 or 3 at breakfast along with cereal with lots of milk. I'll eat a protein bar after lunch, usaully tuna or peanut included in luch. I also drink ensure or a protein drink too. And carbs help too, so a large plate of pasta for dinner is good.

Add protein shakes between your meals. The more calories you take in, the more you should slowly gain weight. Good Luck ! :)
