Fieldy from Korn and Flea from The Chili Peppers are the best bass players of all time. As for the song, I'd have to say Y'all Want A Single by Korn........it's just *amaze*

I am agreeing with several people already - Flea from Chili Peppers. Great great bassist. And the best bass line - hmmm... probably Dont Forget Me - Chilis....

Pete Steele of the band Type O Negative. It's not even close. The guy is like 6'8" tall, technically one of the greatest bass players of all time. Favorite bass line is Black #1 off of the album Bloody Kisses.

It has to be the grandaddy of 'em all - John Paul Jones of the mighty Led Zeppelin. He rawked! Listen to his bassline on the power ballad "Kashmir". He also played on a little-known song called "Stairway to Heaven!"

Sting, but only because I'm not a bass player and can't remember very many right now. My favorite bass line has to be from Phantom Planet's "First Things First." It really rocks!!

I like Laz Pena from ill nino because he can play many different styles with his bass from metal to adding a latin flavor. Fieldy from Korn is also pretty good, I've seen him do a crazy bass solo that was amazing.
