I'm gonna say Twins in 4

I don't care what the experts are saying, all the signs are pointing to the A's to win this series.

With Liriano out, only Santana has a sub-4 ERA of the Twins, the lowest being Bonser's 4.22.

This year, the A's projected starting rotation for the first four games have owned the Twins (Zito, Haren, Harden) In all three of their last starts vs the Twins this season, they have given up a combined, COMBINED 1 run vs the Twins.

The Twins have a great bull pen but the A's have a pretty good one, too, with Ducscherer, Street, Kennedy, Gaudin and Calero.

The Twins projected starters for the first three games are Santana, Bonser and Silva!

Zito vs Santana pretty much favors the Twins because they're at home, since both were great in their last starts against each other's teams this season. If the A's can somehow catch Santana on an off night and squeak by with a win, they'll sweep.

Otherwise, the A's win in 4, even if they throw Santana back at the A's on three days rest. (That leaves Blanton, Loiaza or Saarloos to choose from against an already heavily pitchedTwins bullpen, since its doubtful Santana will go more than 5-6 innings on 3 days.)

Twins in 5. I'll give the A's the benefit of the doubt on this one by giving them two games. Santana wins game 1 at home, Bonser takes game 2 at home, A's win two at home, and Santana pitches and wins game 5 at home.

Twins have the best home record in the majors, and were 5-1 vs. the A's at the dome this year.

Everybody is picking the Twins. I really like the A's. Rich Harden has been pitching real good lately and Zito has been consistent. Santana can only ptich twice and he can be beat. I think the A's in 5.

The Athletics have been considered the fourth citizen in these playoffs for weeks now. Virtually nobody but A's fans are giving them a chance, and I think the A's will come out with a chip on their shoulder. The A's will fight the good fight, maybe even best the Twins. But if they come up against the Tigers or Yanks in the LCS, they're meat.

I like the Twins in this matchup. They won the season series 6-4 from Oakland and have the edge in ERA (3.95 to 4.22) and batting average (.285 to .260). Minnesota has won six of its last ten, while Oakland has lost six of ten. The game will be played in the Metrodome, which has been known to get really loud and affect the opposing defense; Minnesota has the home-field advantage in this matchup. As much as I'd like to see Oakland advance, I don't see them getting past Johan Santana, Joe Nathan and Joe Mauer.

This should be a very good sries, but I'll take the Twins. They had to overcome seemingly, insurmountable odds in the toughest divivion in baseball just to make the playoffs. Also, I give them the edge in pitching. Twins in 5 games.

I have to say Twins in 5. Give them the Home Field advantage in their favor. A's are a tough team.
