it all depends on the individual.

Lion and tiger fights -- Introduction:
By far the most frequently asked question this site receives is: "In a fight between a lion and a tiger, who would win?"
As a consequence, I have spent a great deal of time researching this and talking with people whose careers studying Carnivora extend back some 25 years. Together we have searched for historically documented evidence from which this article has been drawn.
It should be understood that the question is exceedingly difficult to answer as historic records on this type of event are few and far between. Some conclusions can be drawn from studying the various animals, their conformation and habits. Limited historic film and documentation does exist of lion, tiger, and other predator fights. But comparisons of the modern lion and tiger, which are sometimes vastly different animals from their historic, (often extinct) cousins, must be based almost entirely upon a combination of sensible evaluation and assumption.

Tigers are far larger and stronger than lions. A large adult lion may be 6 feet in length. An adult Bengal Tiger can be 10 feet in length. A lion may weigh about 400 pounds, a tiger can weigh over 600 pounds.

As a rule a tiger will always beat a lion. This is due to the fact tigers are significantly larger than lions and posses greater strength and agility as well.

Lion. They are more aggressive, far the better fighter (predation does not necessitate superior fighting ability, whereas the lion, thats all he does. He spends his whole life fighting. Not smaller animals, but other large males) and their thick mane makes them virtually immune to the tigers neck bite.

In all documented encounters between tigers and lions, the tiger has always been reported the winner in a fight.

Tiger. Lions hunt and attack in groups, where tigers are solitary. So in a one on one fight, the tiger would have the advantage.

It would probobly depend on the species of tiger because a sumatran tiger would probobly loose, but a siberian tiger would own all because it is the biggest cat on earth.

the tiger b/c as already mentioned before, the lionesses do the hunting so a one on one fight between a tiger would result in a tiger victory most likely....
