I COMPLETELY agree with clit_liquor28 (love the name btw)
Why are there so many people on here that put men into this awful stereotype that makes us out to be greedy, egotistical, jealous nymphomaniacs? First of all, a LOT of men are NOT like this, so obviously its the way u pick them love. Secondly women are just as capable of being all these things. I really dont see what the point of posting this question - its not exactly going to solve anything for you.

Both men and women get jealous for different reasons!
Many times it depends on the self esteem... the lower it is, the more of a problem with jealousy.

Jealousy always stems from a combination of insecurity and beliefs.

The belief system tells us we should have, we are worthy. Our self esteem tells us we are not worthy, not good enough - therefore we believe we are not... this fosters an unrealistic longing or need (let's call it jealousy) to be a part of something, or to have something.

So how do you get away from that? Change your beliefs. About the situation, and most importantly about yourself. Make yourself worthy in your own eyes. And if it is an unhealthy relationship take the time out to recognize it... because you really won't benfit from it anyway (IE. a guy/girl trying to make their partner jealous ... MOVE ON! this is counter-productive.)

Honey, we are just built that way!! Protect what is ours and our best interest. Even animals, fowl and reptiles are possesive of their femals. Appreciate it!!!

By the way, why are MEN so jealous? Try taking a man away from another woman and you will see who is jealous. Talk about a CATFIGHT!!! :-) Pops

Jealousy stems from insecurity, which may be a charactar flaw, or it may be brought on by the behavior of the jealous person's partner. And women are just as prone to it.

When you want to find out a reason why men do what they do, just think why would a dog do this, You ask why men are jealous? Dogs are territorial when it comes to something that belongs to them, try to snatch food from a dog, they'll bite your arm off.

Sometimes they are jealous because they are cheating and projecting that on you and overreacting because they are feeling guilty. It may be a case of someone hitting on you and disrespecting them. Jealousy is bad in any case. They have to trust you for the relationship to work.

this is not just a individual thing as women are just as guilty of being jealous. usually it is immaturity, lack of self esteem, and also if he has been cheated on before .. sometimes patience and understanding and loyalty is all you can do the rest comes from that person..
