Because no one wants to take that 5 seconds to just stop at a stop signs. Especially if there is no one at any of the other stop signs or if people are just going one way and not making any terns.

It's called a "California stop".......cause people are in such a damn hurry. It causes more accident than it's worth that's for sure. Like the guy, or girl, who has to pass everybody on the freeway cause they've just got to get where their going faster than anybody else....but in the long run they get there at the same time as the rest of us. That always cracks me up...
Have a nice day......and stop at those signs, you might see a beautiful flower....or a 'really' good looking guy.... Hahaha..

The cops must be pretty lenient. When I was a young driver, I got pulled over for doing that, so I never do it anymore.

Traffic signs are for traffic; if there is no traffic I roll through.
It saves wear and tear on the car.

Save gasoline at time. It uses up more gasoline and more of my time for me to stop at all stop signs.
