I think there are a lot of different ways, but here are some important ones:

+ Disabled students

For example, with the use of technology, students who cannot use their hands to take notes can have a special computer record and transcribe what the teacher is saying. PowerPoint or other visual presentations can help hard-of-hearing students when using the blackboard is too distracting or time-consuming, as can microphones. And students with learning disabilities who find sitting and listening for long periods of time to be a struggle can actively interact with a computer instead.

+ Intuitive thinking

Today, when we want information, we usually turn to the Internet, search for reliable info, and print it off. But students used to go to the library first, find big heavy encyclopedias, and search through them for information. These sets of books would be replaced yearly for updated ones. If someone else borrowed the encyclopedia with the letter you needed, you were stuck! And if you looked up something like "crocodiles" and there were words in that entry like "reptile" you wanted to learn about, you'd have to locate *that* book as well! So needless to say, this whole process was really inconvenient.

But with the use of technology, we can research in hyperlinks. Take Wikipedia for example, although it isn't a very serious source, it's set up like a regular encyclopedia - except that within each entry, the important keywords link to other entries. For example, if one sentence says "Crocodiles are reptiles", the word "reptiles" will link to a page about reptiles. This way you can learn the way you think - in a path of ideas and understanding. So without the limits of paper, you can learn in ways that are more convenient and student-friendly.

+ Different learners

Many teachers know that students learn in different ways. Some learn kinesthetically, which means they like "hands-on" learning - for example, to learn about geometry, they would build a sandbox. Other learn visually, which means they would want to see graphs, charts, and words. And others learn orally, which means they want the teacher to discuss it with them. Using technology, more students can learn in the way that best fits them - a kinesthetic learner could use a computer program in which they manipulate shapes and objects, the visual learner could watch a TV show or film about the process, and the oral learner could listen to an online presentation. If all these options are offered using technology, students can learn better.

+ International scene

Students in poor, developing cpuntries are at a disadvantage - they usually don't have computer or Internet access, and have trouble accessing all the news and information that we can about the world around us. So by spreading technology, you can spread literacy in poorer countries and help create more communication between different countries.

+ Actual technology:

Here's a list of technology that is helpful in learning. You can probably think of explanations & reasons why, just by thinking about what you'd have to use if you didn't have them:

- computers, computer programs, laptops
- calculators
- TV sets and projectors
- microphones in large rooms
- music, science, and design equipment
- stereos, CD players, mp3 players
- websites & internet

Technology is defined as the practical application of science...so calculators, slide rules, abacuses, computers, tv's, cameras, printers, pens, pencils, paper are all technological devices. It's pretty obvious that they are all useful in the educational process.
