I am not, when we lose one freedom or change our lifestyle in any way the terrorist are winning. I do not want to give up one thing that our forefathers have fought and died for.

When you give up the freedoms that this country was founded upon, just to hunt down some worthless turd on the other side of the planet; you will fail. There is an old Native American saying that is on par with what Ben Franklin said when he noted that those who surrender a little freedom for security will gain neither and lose both. The saying is that if you chase two rabbits you will catch neither, and lose both.

So exactly how is President Bush even attempting to match wits with one of the founders of this country and a nation of peoples millenia more experienced than he? Sorry to say but he can't. Perhaps our illustrious leaders should pick up a few history books and note that all great civilizations and empires have fallen, not as a result of an outside aggressor...but inwardly.

One of the key aspects of fighting Terrorism, is to find a middle ground whereby we still have the right to fly, but we have security checks. Unfortunately in war, truth is often the first casualty. I think we are all prepared to make small sacrifice in order to live in a safer world. The sad thing is the way that the threat of another Terrorist attack, plays in to the hands of those members of the Government who would like to remove our civil liberties.

No one should be ready to give up their Civil Liberties to fight terrorism, but if they chose to then that is their right. The rest of us have our eyes wide Open.

We can not let other people tell us what to do just because they have threatened us. That is the only way Terrorism can work.

Example: A bomb is not Terrorism, a bomb is an action that happens. But us changing the way we live our lives because of it is Terrorism.

Remember: The Civil Liberties we have are the ones we exercise for our self's, not ones given to us from the government. Terrorism will only win if we let it...

Are you being sarcastic?

It is not worth giving up our freedom. That is the only thing this country has going for it.

(Well, besides all the beautiful scenery, but that doesn't have to do with this question.)

see no evil has a great moniker, it explains his blindness.

here's the terrible facts

1)the president has given himself the authority to name american citizens as enemy combatants.
2) the president has just been given the authority to disappear (no writ of habeus corpus) all enemy combatants so designated by the president.
3)halliburton has been given a 375 million dollar contract to build detention camps for 'future projects."
4)heard of free speech zones? we've lost our freedom of speech.

as old ben franklin said - those who give up liberty for security will be neither secure nor free - AND WILL DESERVE NEITHER. CAUSE THEY'RE TRAITORS TO THE AMERICAN DREAM.

And if the terrorist take over, what happens to our civil liberties then?
Just what is it, you think we should do?
Your question makes me wonder which side your on.

Let's see they have taken our right to peaceably assemble, they have taken our right to privacy, They have suspended the writ of habeus corpus when you accused of being a terrorist (even if you are an American). what can they take next, our right to bear arms? (Oops I forget that one the dems want to take)
