that believes the court system is still in favor of the woman. Why? Just because she is the one who gave birth to the child does not make her a better parient than the father. I divorced nine years ago and fought her over the kids ever since. I knew that one day one of my children would get physically hurt by staying with her. When I took her to court the first time, they asked her who was the better parient and she said I was, but still she got custody. Six years later I have custody because one of her many boyfriends beat them. I now have total control over their lives. But it could have been prevented if the courts did not favor the mother all the time.

AMEN!!!!!!!!! I am a woman and I believe that the courts automatically assume that the mother is the better parent, when in reality (and if the court did a little digging) they would find out that the father is! I'm currently going through this concept with my step-son.....his mother is a witch, feeds things to him that aren't true, puts pressures on him, makes him take medications he doesn't need, etc, yet the court thinks she's golden or something.

it is true, good example is my ex boyfriend ex wife.she a dope head and still the court gave her custody of his child.a year later she drops the baby off saying she cant take care of her no more and left the baby at the grandmas house.and that baby fell down some stairs and a bunch of things happened on visitation days with the mom, but the judge still favored the mom.i believe they need to reform that.not all moms are good moms.

It's not. My mom got screwed in her divorce. She makes less money so she got screwed! She had to take on debt that my father accrued behind her back during the marriage. NOT FAIR. And because she makes less she got less alimony (that doesn't make sense). My sis and I are too old to have custody issues, but my dad makes more money, so I see how he could've been given custody of us. He seemed to get everything else from the divorce lol!

You need a better lawyer.....my mom's fiance has FULL custody of his two children. The court's are NOT always in favor of the women.

I agree with you 100%. It is not fair and in many cases the father would be the better parent. I know from personal experience from things that I have seen that fathers can be a better parent.

Yours is an unusual situation, yes they should have listened to her, she knew she wasn't a very good mother. I would never even let my kids meet a boyfriend until I was serious about him and knew who he was and what he was about. Anyone ever beat my kids I would hurt them...period.
