I really don't think that all those people out there that we think are homeless. Really are homeless. I think they are like robin hood. They steal from the rich and give to the poor.

They are in a cycle of poverty. The money they receive is barely enough to get a meal or sometimes a drink or drugs. We can't pass judgment on the homeless begging because we don't know what their situation is. It's doubtful they go home to a nice house with 2.2 kids and a wonderful spouse. We can help them out by donating to homeless shelters.

Well, they use the money for food, and shelter. Some also have medical or drug, alcoholism issue and spend money on that. I doubt if very many homeless people get rich by begging for money.
If this is for a homework assignment, perhaps you could contact a local homeless shelter and see if they can give you answers.

Some for food, and basic survival, some to support the habits that help them cope with the desparation of their lives, such as drugs and alcohol. I doubt anyone could collect enough by begging to make much of a change in their lives. I mean, even with a regular job many people are still week to week, paycheck to paycheck, hand out to hand out.
One thing my mother taught me though, is if you choose to give a gift, remember it is exactly that: a giving, and as such it is not up to you to choose what is done with it. She said it to me in exactly this type of conversation. Why would you give money to someone if they are just going to get high/drunk? Your choice is to give the money, theirs is how to spend it if they receive it.

Most homeless people don't collect enough money in handouts to make much of a change in their lives. Some of them spend it on food or clothes. Others spend it on liquor or drugs.

There was a study by CNN or FOX news...(someone anyway)...that showed that most panhandlers made more than minimum wage an hour, therefore, why do they have to change? They make more money than like 80% of most Americans!!

Make a change? How - by saving it up instead of eating? How much money do you think they get? Usually, it's enough to get them some food. Unfortunately, for some, it just supports abuse of alcohol or drugs...but in any case, it's usually rarely enough for them to "make a change"

It depends entirely on the homeless person.
Some probably use it to buy drugs or alcohol. Others use it to buy food.
