yes, but it's more fragile for ever after, and you're never the same again, it's like a fine piece of china with a very faint crack in it, breaks easily again

Yes, though how completely it can be mended depends on the severity of the break.

I lost the love of someone who meant the world to me almost ten years ago. Just as vivid as the day I lost her, the hurt remains, and I imagine it always will. But I've moved on, I'm in a fantastic relationship, and I'm happy as a clam. If you've ever truly loved and lost, neither the love nor the pain ever goes away, but if you can be mature and reasonable about it you can survive and find true happiness again.

I believe so but there will be a scar left. each time it's broken I think most people become a little bit less trusting.
