I saw this kind of software they are using in Japan..it is like game but you really are practicing how to type and improving..
If you can find this kind of softwares for all level practice, it would help you a lot..
it is very fun and easy....and it is challenging..
They also have this competition for fast typing in Japan for this kind of game that requires speed typing.... I know how to type so I don't really need it but the way how they enjoyed typing by using this kind of software through typing challenge is fun..
Discover what you can do by yourself and with extra patience, you will get your reward for working hard on it... see how many people are using computers now without even taking courses...
by the way,I found a free website to practice typing... hope this helps..and remember practice, practice practice..
This is the text I use to practice..I think most of the typist knows about this.:.
The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.
. It is better to start with text you remember, and type everytime you need to than go to higher level if you don't even memorize yet where to put every fingers.. I always remember that I have to worry about my errors first than my speed. and you can make your own text if you can using different letters, . see how your fingers move...Playing piano is much difficult...but typing is much easier if you know where you will position your fingers...but remember errors would always be a part of typing, so the more you get used to it, the less errors you will get.
based on my experience....I can't even afford by that time to buy my own typewriter so I used this sponge thing, cut into pieces and created a sponge keyboard. and practiced typing.
.
good day!

As a self-taught drummer myself, i can tell you that there really is no 'fast" way to learn an instrument. It takes a lot of patience, practice, discipline, and hard work. Now that being said, some people do learn quicker than others so it all depends on the person. I have two cousins that both play guitar and both are self-taught. My one cousin Terry practiced just about every day and picked it up quicker than my cousin Dave, who didn't practice nearly as much. Terry became pretty darn good in about 8 months. It all boils down to how determined you are, how much you practice, and how quickly you pick things up. My advice would be to get an instructional book or DVD and learn a few chords. If you do it on your own you will save a lot of money and you can go at your own pace. Guitar lessons are not cheap these days, unless you know someone. Just give it a shot on your own for a month or 2 and see how you progress. Then if you feel you need lessons to get better, then find a good teacher that won't be too expensive. But the key is to practice....practice.....practice! Good Luck!

All it takes is more practice. But even for the best, there is a reasonable limit. If you can do 70 words per minute, that is about a normal "fast" level. Average person probably just types 40-50 wpm.
But I have actually seen one young lady who typed 140 wpm. It was amazing. And she was accurate!
Just set aside say, 30 minutes each day, take out some book or magazine, just a normal book (not some math book!), and start typing what you see. Do this everyday. You will see that you will get better and better and better.
As a retired school teacher of 30 years (and somewhat part of the "older" generation), I used to tell my students there were TWO skills they could learn in high school that would be forever useful to them throughout their life:
1) Learn to type.
2) Learn to work on cars.
Good luck!

Practice makes perfect. If you spend at least an hour per day with your fingers on the correct keys A,S,D,F--J,K,L,;), not looking down at the keyboard, and typing all sorts of things off the top of your head, you'll get better. This way, you're teaching yourself without having to pay anyone. I learned this way and i currently type about 65wpm but I'm still practicing to get better.

All you do is type alot, create an account on some messenger program if you haven't already, and talk with friends alot, it comes with practice like playing an instrument.

MrZ and SmartyPants are totally right about practising. But you shoud focus on using all your fingers. Think it like a distribution the duties. I usually try to type with music too :D It really makes it fun with a beat. 10fastfingers is nice site to try.
