I've understood that every being is one but every being is also nothing. Some say we imagine each other and some say we all collectively imagine the world we live in making it all up as we go through our daily lives. Could we possibly be alive and dead at the same time? So then "life" outside of our thoughts doesn't exist because once dead it is no different than life where everything is all and everything is nothing. Therefore "life" doesn't exist inside of our thoughts either. Life does not exist, only we do.

Once upon a time, there was no 'proof' that the world was round . . .
As a mental exercise, this question is interesting in a Matrix kind of way. :-) As already stated, YOU are the only one doing all of the imagining. And if others DO exist, do you exist in their imaginings? :-)

That's a philosophical issue, not a physics one. And it says you can only know that you exist because you think. There might not be anyone else out there to be imagining you.

that sounds like solipsism to me. although there is certainly life within our thoughts, i think there is life outside of our thoughts also. it's more your perception of reality as it exists outside of yourself, and your relationship with that reality than imagination.

Berkeley concluded that God was doing the imagining.

I prefer John Lennon's answer.
