Cold Call
The name given to describe an approach made by a job seeker to an employer who hasn't publicly requested to be approached or advertised any positions within his company. Cold calling can be beneficial as very many jobs are found in the hidden job market. Please also see 'Hidden Job Market'

It's like 'cold calling', but i think that might only refer to walking into businesses or phoning them, not sure
