I agree with 'Bobbiegreen' except on Jihad. The media has mistranslated and popularized jihad as holy war, but it is simply a struggle for one's property and knowledge. It has nothing to do with war (well, sort of), and is not necessarily holy.

Well, the "ship of the desert" is the camel. And fertile areas in the desert are oasis.
The word for "surrendering ones" is Muslims.
I think the birthplace of Islam is the Arabian Peninsula, modern day Saudi Arabia.

Jihad is holy war.
