My wife arranged everything, I didn't have to do a thing. I just had to show up at the church that day & the rest was a blur. Why would anyone complain?

Typical man...let her do everything and you just show up to reap the rewards...go home, kiss your wife, and thank her for everything she does for you:)

lets just clear this up. theres 2 definitions of arranged marriages, 1) where your parents agree to a marriage when you're a kid 2) where your parents choose and then you give the consent.
both involve the parents and i see no problem with that. after all its the parents who bring up the child.
a lot of love marriages break up because 2 ppl think they're in love and in an arranged marriage theres room for love to develop.
its not just pushing you together with a stranger, its someone you know either a lot or a little.
arranged marriages dont just bring 2 ppl together they bring 2 families together.
thats why if there are problems between the couple the families help sort it out. not like western culture where everyone wants to do everything on their own.
those ppl who are saying its cruel obviously dont have enough faith in their parents judgement.
here in england love marriages are breaking up but lots more arranged marriages are rock solid.

I don't think that is what people mean when they say, arranged marriage. An "arranged marriage" is when other people decide what man and woman should marry. Like if your parents decided that you should marry Jane. You have never met this woman, but you are going to get married next weekend. That is what "arranged marriage" means. Not that your wife did all the planning. That is usually what happens in all marraiges. :)

Well are you talking about arranged marriage that is arranged by your parents or you called it "arranged" because your wife did all the preparations?

Did your parents/her parents arrange the marriage? Or are you saying that the woman you chose, planned the wedding?

well guy, your type of aranged marriage is different from the one your asking about....a real arranged marriage is one that is set when they are kids.....they are to be married when they get older regardless of love....usually in the middle east and places like that...men will trade their daughters for live stock and stuff..

It sounds like it suited you but it doesn't go that smoothly for everyone. Some people are forced into marriages with people they don't know or don't like. Imagine living the rest of your life to someone you don't like.

Because some men want this to be their day too and want to be involved. If I marry my boyfriend, I know he'll want to be involved in almost every detail and I'm Ok with that. I think it's something we both should enjoy! I'm happy for you though and I know a lot of men who feel the same way about it!

A blur???
Yeah, I guess you did black out when the preacher asked for objections....you and Mrs. Sausage-to-be saw me running down the aisle 7 months pregnant with your baby!!!

Her mother did keep her word to pay for ALL the wedding expenses....including paying me off!

Because that's absurd... Everyone wants a choice in life, especially when it comes to marriage... what if she's totally different once you live together?
