For cursive writing there is a 3rd grade A Beka cursive writing book, and they have books for earlier grades too. But I used the 3rd grade book to work on my 8th grade and 11th graders awful handwriting. They had to do a page a day. There are other books one can get from " Class works" and any educational bookstore. Also Walmart usually carries workbooks that teaches handwriting also.

If your child has dyspraxia (clumsy child syndrome) or fine motor skill diffculties you may never get perfect handwriting but being positive it will be readable with hard work.

From the age of 3/4 we have our children writing in cursive script (we believe that it improves spelling if the child knows the shape of the words learnt through writing joined-up).

There are some excellent schemes made by Berol (the pen makers) and it guides you through good handwriting.

If your child has specific needs then there is a scheme by Theodorescu (hope this is spelt correctly). It starts with shape following and moves on to develop better hand-eye co-ordination in children and therefore improved h'writing.

Good luck.

Good handwriting comes from practice. As the old saying goes...practice, practice, and more practice. I would read to the child and show them how nice the writing is, practice with them by writing a short letter to a friend, or a grocery list. Lead by example and the child will follow. Remember a child likes to be the center of attention, use this to advance their skills.

This is how I help the kids at school. Grab a highlighter in a bright color and write out the alphabet. Then have the child write over the highlighted area. Do this for a week then write it out omiting some letters but have them modeled on a white or chalk board. Each week omitt more and more letters until the child is writing them by them self.

Depending on how young your child is dexterity may be the first hurdle. However the child is comfortable holding a writing instrument (maybe a big fat crayon) let him/her do so. It may be easiest to start with child's name then include other names (mom, dad etc). What fun you'll have! When the child has better fine motor control the letters will become neater.

first off..its not good handwriting, its proper, or neat... not good.. anyway..

Have them write the letter a few times and circle the one you think they did best and make them do it like that a few times.. also have them draw circle scribbles and play with play dough.. it improves handwriting..

It's probable to pay a lot of time and money trying to find methods to show your children how to learn and enhance their reading skills. Is hard to teach a tiny kid how to learn, and also engaging them to learn is a challenge in itself. But it doesn't have to be that way because you got assistance from the program https://tr.im/YmZ2P , Children Learning Reading program.
With Children Learning Reading you may train your son or daughter how to separate sounds and separate phrases in to phonemes, a vital issue when your kid is just understanding how to spell.
The reading program from Children Learning Reading program makes it simple for children to learn easily and correctly, from easy phrases to phrases until they understand to read stories.
